Notice
• NMMS Members and friends have certainly noticed by now that the Mycorizon, NMMS' club newsletter, is no longer arriving in their mailboxes. I stated at the end of last year that I would no longer edit and publish the Mycorizon and asked for another willing party to take on – or at least share in – that responsibility. So far, no one has stepped up.
So for the time being – and perhaps well into the future – we will rely on electronic means to provide club information. We will send occasional email messages and continue to post information on the Web. The website MycoWest.net has served in this capacity for over a decade, and we have new interactive website in the works which we hope to introduce soon.

Mariana Bornholdt has been a long time mainstay of the Oregon mycological community. She moved to Santa Fe a few years back and now graces the membership of NMMS. Mariana recently offered this guide to pronouncing scientific names, which readers will find it both helpful and entertaining.

Building Your Mushroom Memory
Walt Sundberg has written a series of articles for publication in the Earthstar Examiner, the newsletter of the Missouri Mycological Society (MoMS). We have reproduced the articles with the permission – and encouragement – of the author.
