Voucher Specimens in their New Home
• Thanks to the efforts of Libba and Spencer Campbell and Foray participants, last year's Taos Foray included vouchering of the specimens coming in from the field. "Vouchering" includes writing descriptions of each collection as well as photographing, dehydrating, packaging, and cataloging the Foray specimens. The 2009 voucher collection included 125 mushrooms and myxomycetes.
After a bit of a delay, the voucher collection finally have a home at the UNM Museum of Southwestern Biology. Mark Kalin and David Wallis met with Herbarium Collection Manager Jane Mygatt last month and delivered the specimens.

Communicating with NMMS Membership
• The last issue of Mycorizon, the NMMS Newsletter, was Nov-Dec 2009. There still appears to be nobody chomping at the bit to take on the responsibility of editing and publishing a printed newsletter. So we continue to rely on the MycoWest.org website and occasional email notices such as this to keep our membership informed.
• A few members have suggested that doing away with printed material and "going electronic" is the environmentally responsible route to take. In keeping with this mindset, Jonathan Caldwell has been working on a new website which should prove a valuable addition to our old site. The target launch date had been May 1st, but Jonathan recently stated that he is working out the last little bugs, and continued that the site should be ready soon.
• Because the new site is not quite ready, I have not included a link here. However, as soon as it "goes live," I will add a link on the mycowest.org site and send word via a future email message.
