DUES
NMMS
Although NMMS must deal with increased costs for 2o15, the Board has agreed
to keep the annual membership dues at $20. There are a couple of changes,
however. One is that we will no longer prorate dues at mid-year. The other
change is that NMMS offers a $5 discount for current NAMA members.
($15/year instead of $20)
Thank you to those who have already paid for this year. Those who need to
renew can pay at the upcoming meeting if you plan to attend.
If you're not sure if your membership is current, you can check on the NMMS
Members' Forum: http://newmexicomyco.org . (Log in, then on the right side
menu click My Account. Your status will be included under Basic Info.)
NAMA
NAMA dues went up an entire dollar for 2o15, which means that they are now
$25/year for members of NAMA-affiliated clubs, such as NMMS. (The cost to
non-club members is $30/year.) The full list of cost options and
information about joining NAMA is available at www.namyco.org/join/ .
FORAYS
NMMS Annual Foray
For this year's big event, NMMS will be returning to Sipapu Ski Resort,
where we also held Forays in 2oo2 & 2o1o. Dates of the Foray are 2o-23
August 2o15. Steve Trudell is eager to return as our Foray Mycologist, and
Jay Justice, who participated in our Pagosa Springs Forays, will also join
us. (For those who might be wondering, the NMMS Foray occurs the weekend
following the Telluride Mushroom Festival, so yes, you can attend both.)
NAMA Foray
The NAMA Foray Committee has done a remarkable job at organizing this
year's Annual Foray. The location will be Black Mountain, NC (near
Asheville) and the dates are 24-27 September 2o15.
We don't have a lot of information posted yet concerning these events, but
as it becomes available, you will be able to access it from
