Field Trip Report
East side of Sandias near Doc Long's
Saturday,
30 April 2005
We set out from the
Sulphur Spring Parking lot at 08:00, walked over the hill to
Doc
Long's, then up Tejano Canyon past Bill Springs
to the junction with
Faulty Trail. The rest of the walk was a combination of trail travel and
bushwacking, getting us finally to the top of Sulphur Canyon, then
back to the parking lot.
Length and duration of the trip was about 5 miles in 5 hours.
The Stream was flowing enthusiastically along the length of
Tejano Canyon.
As was the case on our previous trips, moist, partially-shaded,
north-facing hillsides seemed to be the best
places to find ascomycetes.
