Condition Report
East side of Sandias
Doc Long area (224o-24ooM)
18 April 2oo8
Conditions:
There was a fresh dusting remaining from the Sandias' recent
snowfall, but as the temperature rose, it was melting quickly.
The air temp was well below freezing at o8:oo, but the
day
was downright warm by 11:oo.
The ground was still moist, and portions of the Faulty Trail were
slippery with mud.
Fungi:
Still nothing (too cold)
Critters:
Apparently the Abert's squirrels took the day
off, although we found a few fresh truffle excavation sites.
It appears that the bears are awake--and hungry--several newly
overturned rocks and some fresh tracks.
